A great many recreation therapy positions are permanent part-time or casual rather than full-time. That is entirely financeable, but casual hours get averaged over two years, so a consistent record matters more than a strong recent stretch.
A recreation therapist is not a recreation assistant
They are separate classifications on separate lines of the schedule with a real gap between them. If the application was built off the wrong classification, the income is understated from the start.
Weekend and evening programming carries premiums
Programming runs when patients are free, which means evenings and weekends, which means premium rates set in the agreement. Regular and contractual, and routinely left off applications.
Second lines at another employer
Holding hours at a second hospital, a long-term care home or a community agency is common. Each needs its own letter and stubs, and the total has to reconcile to your T4s.
