Two brokers. One office. Ontario.
Jeff worked at CAMH before he was a mortgage agent. Emily was a nurse with Toronto Public Health. Between us we have held the kind of pay stub this site is about, sat through the shift rotations, and watched the pay get misread on paperwork.

Jeff Mudrick
Reads the collective agreements the pay grids come from, builds the tools on this site, and runs the lender side of a file.

Emily Mudrick
Takes a file from the first call through documents, approval and the lawyer's office. Most clients deal with Emily day to day.
Why we ended up doing only this
Frontline pay does not look like a salary, and almost nothing in the mortgage process is built for it. Shift premium sits inside the regular wage line, so it reads as though it does not exist. Paid duty gets filed as a side job. Overtime is averaged one way by one lender and another way by the next, and a collective agreement that expired two years ago still sets what you are paid today, which confuses almost everyone who has not read the Labour Relations Act.
So we started reading the agreements ourselves. Not summaries of them, the actual filed documents, article by article, and putting the numbers on this site with the page they came from and the date a person checked them. Ninety-seven of them so far. It is slower than quoting a salary website and it is the only way to be right.
The practical effect is that a conversation with us does not start with you trying to explain your own pay. We have usually already read the agreement that sets it. We start from what you actually earn and work out what that supports.
