This agreement has expired, so nothing here has changed yet. Under the Labour Relations Act the terms of an expired agreement keep applying while a new one is bargained, and police and firefighters cannot strike, so their rounds go to binding interest arbitration instead. The rates above are still what lands on the stub today. When the award comes it is normally backdated to the day after expiry, which means a lump sum of retroactive pay and a higher base from then on. Both matter on a mortgage file, and they are counted differently.

Collective agreement, Article 16.1(a) 'Schedule of Wages - January 2020 - December 2024', page 23-24. Fire Fighter I ('First Class') rate cross-verified against the independent 'Recognition Pay Schedule - January 2020 - December 2024' table (page 24), which restates 'Fire Fighter I Rate of $X' at each effective date -- used because the main wage-grid table's text extraction is corrupted/column-misaligned in the source PDF for the other classifications (Fire Fighter II-V, Recruit, Fire Prevention, Platoon Chief, Captain). Those other classes are NOT reported here since the figures could not be read with confidence. This is the newest agreement filed in the Ontario provincial CA library for this employer/union; peterborough.ca's Careers page (fetched directly) has no collective-agreements link, and WebSearch (session budget exhausted) / Brave Search (invalid token) / Bing / DuckDuckGo / Ecosia / Mojeek fetches via WebFetch were all unavailable or blocked this session, so a broader search for a signed 2025+ agreement or arbitration award could not be completed.. Open the source. Base pay only. Premiums, overtime and paid duty are not in this table. Confirm against your own stub before relying on it.

What a lender does with this

Base pay off the grid is the easy part. On a frontline file the rest of the T4 is where approvals are won or lost.
