This agreement has expired, so nothing here has changed yet. Under the Labour Relations Act the terms of an expired agreement keep applying while a new one is bargained, and police and firefighters cannot strike, so their rounds go to binding interest arbitration instead. The rates above are still what lands on the stub today. When the award comes it is normally backdated to the day after expiry, which means a lump sum of retroactive pay and a higher base from then on. Both matter on a mortgage file, and they are counted differently.

The successor term to 2027 was set by interest arbitration rather than bargaining. Only the first class firefighter rate under that award has been published, at $123,679 effective July 1, 2026. The other ranks above are the last printed dollar figures, from January 2023, and the award has not been published as a full dollar schedule. We do not scale the other ranks by the same percentage, because the award does not say they move together.
