Milton Fire Department pay grid
Suppression firefighters employed by the Milton Fire Department
What this step buys
An estimate, not an approval. Send it over and we will confirm it against your own stubs.
Ask Jeff and EmilyThis agreement has expired, so nothing here has changed yet. Under the Labour Relations Act the terms of an expired agreement keep applying while a new one is bargained, and police and firefighters cannot strike, so their rounds go to binding interest arbitration instead. The rates above are still what lands on the stub today. When the award comes it is normally backdated to the day after expiry, which means a lump sum of retroactive pay and a higher base from then on. Both matter on a mortgage file, and they are counted differently.
Collective agreement, Corporation of the Town of Milton and Milton Professional Firefighters Association Local 3168, Article 23 - Wages table ('Full-time Firefighter' classification rows: 1st through 5th Class and Probationary), page 40. Article 29 Duration confirms Mar 1 2023 - Feb 28 2025. The wage table itself only prints two columns (Mar 1/23, Mar 1/24) even though the term runs to Feb 28 2025, i.e. no further increase is scheduled after Mar 1/24. Agreement expired Feb 28, 2025 with no newer agreement found: checked Ontario provincial collective agreement library under employer names 'Town of Milton', 'Corporation of the Town of Milton', and union search 'Milton Professional Firefighters' - no fire CA newer than this 2023-2025 term is filed as of verification date. Could not run additional web search this session (WebSearch quota exhausted); WebFetch attempt against a guessed milton.ca collective-agreements URL returned 404.. Open the source. Base pay only. Premiums, overtime and paid duty are not in this table. Confirm against your own stub before relying on it.
Increases already negotiated
How 1st class pay moves across the rest of this agreement. These are printed in the schedule, not a forecast.

Base pay off the grid is the easy part. On a frontline file the rest of the T4 is where approvals are won or lost.
