Correctional Officers 1, 2 and 3 employed directly by the Ontario government at provincial correctional institutions (jails, detention centres, youth facilities). Does not cover federal Correctional Service Canada staff (see the CX grid) or municipal/private security staff.

Under the Labour Relations Act the terms of an expired agreement keep applying while a new one is bargained, and police and firefighters cannot strike, so their rounds go to binding interest arbitration instead. The rates above are still what lands on the stub today. When the award comes it is normally backdated to the day after expiry, which means a lump sum of retroactive pay and a higher base from then on. Both matter on a mortgage file, and they are counted differently.

Rates confirmed against the December 4, 2023 William Kaplan interest arbitration award (ws.lr.labour.gov.on.ca record 912-34131-24AA) which set the general increases (3% Jan 2022, 3.5% Jan 2023, 3% Jan 2024) baked into this schedule. Agreement expired Dec 31, 2024; no successor agreement or award was found filed as of verification date, so Jan 1, 2024 remains the newest confirmed rate.. Open the source. Base pay only.
